Statement of Faith

These tenants of faith are the basic foundation for Jackson Christian Center, as well as for all Christianity. While it is true that Christians should not get into controversy over "doctrines," there are some basic doctrines that should be adhered to uncompromisingly by Jackson Christian Center or any Christian body or organization.

The Bible is the mind of Christ, and is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God. (II Tim. 3:16, 17; II Pet. 1:20, 21)

  • There is one God manifested in three (3) persons: FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT. (II Cor. 13:14; Gen. 1:27; Matt. 3:16;
  • Deut. 6:4)
  • The reality of Satan and his present control over unregenerate man does exist. (John 10:10; II Cor. 4:4; John 8:44)

  • Christianity is based upon the following:
    • The virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:18; Luke 1:17-31)

    • His sinless life (II Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:14, 15) His miracles (Gospels)
    • His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (Heb. 9, Col. I:13)

    • His bodily resurrection (John 20:1-31)
    • His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Eph. 1:17)

    • His personal return in power and glory as Lord and King (II Tim. 3:16; Acts 1:9-11; Phil. 2:1-11)
    • The fall of man and his lost estate which makes necessary a rebirth through confession and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:12,17)

    • The reconciliation of man to God by the death of Christ and His shed blood (Rom. 10:8; Rom. 5:1)
    • The resurrection of believers in heaven and the resurrection of unbelievers unto everlasting punishment in hell (John 5:28-29; Rev. 20)

    • We also believe in the present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit, including the baptism of the Holy Spirit with
    • the evidence of speaking in other tongues and the nine manifestations listed in 1 Cor. 12:8-10, in and among believers
    • on the earth since the day of Pentecost and continuing until our Lord's return (John 16).
